Saving those so I don't lose them when (if) I get around to writing a more proper article.
- Arc Words - "These are hostile waters..." Used every time some new, greater threat presents itself. Including the ending cinematic..
- Brain Uploading
- Cool Boat - the Antaeus.
- Crosshair Aware - not that it helps.
- Death of a Thousand Cuts - At least at the start, your anti-building weapon of choice will be a humble chaingun. Lots of chainguns.
- Deflector Shields - Used by the player's vehicles later in the game (making them expotentially more durable in the long run) and, mercifully, only one enemy.
- Glass Cannon - the Vulture. Heaviest armed flying unit. Unshielded and armored with paper mache.
- Enemy Chatter
- Enemy Mine - The level is even named "Enemy of my Enemy"
- Escort Mission - of the rare, non-frustrating kind!
- Fission Mailed
- Heroic Sacrifice
- Interface Screw
- Law of Conservation of Detail, The - Violated a surprising amount of times.
- Loading Screen - Justified as showing Antaeus' progress towards the next island.
- Military Mashup Machine - the Antaeus is a mobile factory. In addition, it has tremendous firepower, but only minimal ammo reserves. It's possible that's a result of prolonged inertness, and in its prime it was also a full-fledged battleship.
- Mook Maker - All enemy builduings
- My Hero, Zero - The player's ship is, of course, Antaeus Prototype 00.
- Non-Entity General
- No Recycling - Averted, in that debris from destroyed enemies is one of your main sources of income. Played straight, in that while you can recycle your own damaged unit, they leave no debris if destroyed.
- Patchwork Map - Justified.
- Pretentious Latin Motto - Puglio averso belli - A dagger (weapon) against war.
- Schizo Tech - The Cabal is the creator of the most advanced missile technology in the world and a biological warfare species, and has access to Assembler technology. And yet, they use vehicles that predate the war twenty years ago. At least later they get upgraded, but still.
- Sequel Hook - Two, in the ending cinematic. A pity that never went anywhere.
- Ship Shape - Subverted some, straight some.
- Sniping Mission
- Super Drowning Skills - All ground vehicles rapidly explode when exposed to water.
- Super Prototype - Subverted/averted. Antaeus Prototype 00 isn't superior to the production models - it's just the last one left.
- Time Keeps On Slipping
- The Enemy Gate Is Down - Some of the missions will let you win even if Antaeus is badly damaged, just as soon as you blow up what you should. Somewhat justified in the finale, since it's been converted into a floating bomb.
- Unexpected Genre Change - Two missions have you in direct control of one vehicle, without access to the Antaeus or the War Room. One is a Boss Battle, the other a Stealth-Based Mission.
Kizor: What's Interface Screw in Hostile Waters, though?
