Fighteer: So, I'm a bit curious. What character trope(s) would Sherry Nugil fall under in this film? She has a fetish for smart guys and deliberately sets out to seduce them. However, this is not treated as creepy or evil (except with Mitch, who's underage and is squicked out by her advances anyway), and in the end she gets Lazlo. She's not a The Vamp or Femme Fatale, Hot for Teacher doesn't count since she's not a teacher, and she's also not Ms. Fanservice. Nor is she Stacy's Mom since she's not a parent of anyone in the story, nor a Mrs. Robinson since she's not old enough. Do We Have This One?

Aside from being Conversation In The Main Page and Fan Wank, it's inaccurate. A megawatt isn't all that much for a college campus or industrial plant. The rather small factory I work at has a 3000 amp service at 440 volts; that's 1.3 megawatts. Large power plants are measured in gigawatts. (Don't tell Doc Brown.) I guess tropers have no sense of scale, either.

Fighteer: I agree with you, but not for that reason. The laser being used to light the way to the party was not a five megawatt laser. They don't get anywhere near that power level until Chris' breakdown/breakthrough.
