Sikon: For the last time, stop listing Sailor Nothing. It's original fiction.

Rogue 7: A question- isn't most of this covered in Fan Fic Recommendations?

Tanto: Indeed. I'm not sure what the point of this is — Fanfic Recommendations was added for the express purpose of keeping this page from ever existing.

Sikon: Merge and delete, then?

Kizor: Yes.

Unknown Troper: That wouldn't work in regards to things on the list like My Immortal or the Gonter Verse. Unless you were recommending them for their comedy value...

Wascally Wabbit: We now have the new and improved Fanfic Recommendations namespace. We do not need these.

Anonymous Mc Cartneyfan: But this is where we index the entries to the fanfics themselves, and we cover them in more detail in their entries than we can in Fan Fic Recommendations. Keep this.

Meta Four: I also say we keep them.

Pk Mario: Yeah, the old Fanfic Recommendations had nothing to do with this page. But btw, why is Avatar and Naruto The Abridged Series here? They are not...Fanfics.

John A Dreams: I also vote for keeping. They really aren't doing any harm and they're clearly not out of control.

Looney Toons: As a Cut Master, I should attempt to be neutral, but I have to admit that I'm in favor of keeping this page and its children. (ETA) Come to think of it, as far as I can tell from the discussion pages and the cutlist, the only person who is demanding this area be destroyed is Wascally Wabbit, who seems to be waging a personal campaign against it.

Darktalon: Fan Fic Recommendations = "you might want to read this fanfic". This page = "here are the tropes found in this fanfic". They're quite distinct.

Meta Four: @ Looney Toons, I think it's possible to have an opinion and still act neutrally. My thinking is that I cast my vote whether to save or keep, but my vote doesn't have any more weight than anyone else's, and I act as the majority decrees.

Ethereal Mutation: On a separate note, I'm not sure if Gonter Verse really should be filed in this section. While half of his stuff is fanfiction (or blatantly rips stuff off from other fiction), he does have plenty of "original" works (how original they are is left up to the reader... but it's not like The Inheritance Trilogy is listed in this section in spite of being a pastiche of plot elements from Star Wars, Lord Of The Rings, and Dragonriders of Pern). I would suggest moving the page back to the main section while keeping it on the sorting list in this section and also categorizing it under Webcomics and/or Web Original (ah, the joys of somebody that is "noteworthy" for a couple categories).

Ethereal Mutation: I went ahead and moved it back. It's still sorted on the category, though.

Big T: I'm not sure why they don't qualify as fanfics. Fans made them from original shows. They created a Fandub. For something not to be a fanfic, you have to use all original characters, or have permission to use non-original ones (or get sued).

Pk Mario: They are The Abridged Series, that's something on its own.

Unknown Troper: Does anyone else think it would be a good idea to separate the fanfics on this page into "crappy", "good", and "arguably either"? Or something like that...
Lord Seth: Okay, why are a lot of these things not fan fiction in the least? The Abridged Series that are listed here certainly aren't. They'd probably fit better under Web Original. This really needs some cleaning up.
Kchasm: This page, right? This page needs some sort of sorting, whether by fandom, or "most people agree that this fic is okay"/"most people agree that this fic isn't good" categories, or something. Something. I would do it myself, but to be honest, I'm kind of apprehensive about acting without getting someone else's approval first.

Alhazred: I would say the page should be sorted by media since it's turned into a more inclusive fan works list. Fandom can and probably should be labeled in parenthesis after each link, a couple of items on the list already have it.

Quanyails: I'm rather new to TV Tropes, but there's this fan fic I'd really like to make a page of; it utilizes a lot of tropes, most of them parodied or lampshaded. What requirements would I have to go through to create the page, if I could at all?

CAD: Fanfic pages count as work pages, and so they don't need to go through YKTTW at all. Just make a page for it in the fanfic namespace. To do that, make a redlink to it (FanFic/YourFanFicHere becomes Your Fan Fic Here) And then just edit your content onto the page, summary at the top, tropes at the bottom.

The only thing that might be a little questionable is if the fanfic is yours. But if it is, just don't go overboard on Entry Pimping it onto other pages to the point of spamvertizing and you should be fine.

DKN 117: I tried to create a page for the Halo fanfic Enemy of My Enemy. But when I put "Enemy of My Enemy" and then clicked on the ensuing red link, coming to the "Describe X Here" page, and clicked on the "Edit Page" button, there was no text box to make the page in/with. I deleted the ensuing dead link. How the hell am I supposed to make a page for this fic? All the "How To" pages on this site aren't helping me, and indeed aren't mentioning this little detail at all.

HELP!!!

Alexlayer: That's wierd. Once you click the "Edit Page" button, the text box should appear for you to write the chapter. I've created articles that way without any trouble. Have you tried again?

DKN 117: I got the page up and running, but how do I get the little thing at the bottom that connects it to the (Fan Fic / Fan Fics) thing-that-I-cant-remember-the-word(s)-for-at-the-moment, so that people can... click the... thing... to... make the thing... afjwhghphgipur... DO THINGS.? You know... like " Elemental blahblah << Enemy Of My Enemy >> Eternal Negima" or something like that.

Squall: The works need to be divided up into at least the two categories of Awesome and Horrible, preferably with humorous titles standing in for such. Just lumping gems like The Protomen in the same list with Marissa Picard seems...sacrilegeous?

CaitsMeow: But I wouldn't call some of these fanfics great at all, nor would I call them good. And that part is awfully subjective as well. Plus, isn't this just for listing fanfics, while there's Fanfic Recommendations et al. for alerting people to the gems and/or the crap?

Alexlayer: Then we could simply divide them between "Recommendable" and "So Bad It's Good" section. How does that sound?

CaitsMeow: I guess that could work; I notice more outright agreement on which fanfics archived here are just bad (or hilariously bad) versus which fanfics are good as opposed to merely okay. If that makes sense.

Division

Alexlayer: The page is getting too large, so I though, shouldn't we try and divide the fics in categories? While keeping them in alphabetic order inside each one, but they should be separated in "Anime/Manga", "Western Animation", "Videogames" and so on.

Don't you people think so?

Electric Nachos: Done

The Tambourine Man: What's the criteria for a fanfic to get its own page? Length? Popularity? Using a sufficient number of tropes? Having a certain ratio of the three?

Alexlayer: Generally it's popularity, sometimes because of being So Good Its Awesome, and sometimes because it's So Bad, It's Good (*cough*My-inmortal*cough*). But damn, I'm damn sure more than one out there has done a page for a fanfic simply because they liked the fanfic enough to dedicate it a page, (I'm planning to do that with a certain FF 8 sooner or later).

So, if you're asking this 'cause you want to make a page for a certain fanfic, feel free to do so.
