* Another FullHouse example: DJ asks Danny to help her with a math problem. Unfortunately, he spends the entire episode trying to figure out how to operate DJ's calculator. * ''{{Rugrats}}'': Grampa ''is'' this trope. Not only is he ridiculously incompetent when it comes to technology (in one episode, he also has a "too technologically dense to operate a calculator" plot), but he often complains about how much better and simpler things were back in "his day." * ''{{Zits}}'': Walt is shown to be very dumb when it comes to technology, even going so far as to [[WhatAnIdiot mistake "googling" for "having sexual intercourse."]] * The 2012 comedy ''ParentalGuidance'' runs on grandparents Artie and Diane being this. The film even begins with Artie being [[UnfortunateImplications fired from his job as a baseball announcer for not being technologically up to speed.]] I would point out that this is gradually becoming a DiscreditedTrope, due to how universally mainstream things like the internet and cellphones have become, and the fact that keeping up with technology is now seen as mandatory for day-to-day survival. In fact with the exception of "Zits," ([[UnintentionalPeriodPiece which began publication when the internet was just becoming mainstream]]), it's very rare in modern-day (ie. [[TurnOfTheMillennium post-90's]]) works to depict parents or teachers as technologically incompetent. It will almost always be grandparents or great grandparents who fall under this stereotype. Usually, if an author wants to depict a technology-related parent/child conflict in a modern-day work, it will instead be a case of HypocriticalHumor: ''Bob's Mom - "Bob, you've been surfing the internet for two hours, now. Go outside and play!"'' ''Bob - "Alright mom." ::Bob goes outside to play, and his mom gets on the internet::'' ''::Two hours later, Bob returns home to see that his mom is ''still'' surfing the internet::''
