It's a {{Shonen}} anime, and there's a certain degree of BadPowersBadPeople in effect. To use Darkness Cosmo you're basically channeling TheDarkSide and bringing out the worst parts of yourself. You let anger control you, become aggressive and [[TheDarkSideWillMakeYouForget stop caring about the people you're ostensibly fighting for.]] Sure, you can do it for a good cause or to take down an enemy, but it makes you aggressive and amoral and has almost no chance of recovering from. So there is a personality type to be fought here, it's just that it usually amounts to resisting AxeCrazy BloodKnight in favor of TheDeterminator.

Even the most empathetic of Darkness users are either ''at best'' {{Well Intentioned Extremist}}s or deeply tormented. A bit off topic, but I actually expected the DarkChick to do a HeelFaceTurn and prove DarkIsNotEvil, but she actually ''self destructs'' in what amounted to a guilty ego implosion.

* Speaking of, the classic ''StarWars'' brings us TheDarkSide. You have to resist selfishness and anger or fall to it, and it's a slippery slope.
