I recall the Black Eyed Peas doing this at the Super Bowl halftime show. Not sure if it was part of the original song or if they mixed two songs together, though. (The song had the lyrics "I had the time of my life", if there's anybody here more familiar with their work who can fill in the blanks.)

This is also fairly common in Japanese songs, albeit with a designated member of the group doing the raps instead of a guest rapper, and the instrumental accompaniment often retains the non-percussion melodic instruments. A couple examples:
* ''m.o.v.e'' (of ''InitialD'' fame) has Yuri Masuda on lead vocals with Mototaka "Motsu" Segawa doing short raps in the background; the latter usually gets a solo rap section or two accompanied by an instrumental melody.
* In ''{{Bemani}}'' games, Naoki Maeda's songs (mainly his older works) sometimes have Aaron G. on rap alternating with Paula Terry on vocals.
* T-Pistonz+KMC (of ''InazumaEleven'' fame) usually gives KMC a solo where he typically does a slightly melodic MotorMouth rap.
