Describing some of the killers of tropes and YKTTW, and how these killers are combated, would be beneficial to your description. Simply telling me that they go out fighting doesn't really say anything. Sometimes you have to fight tooth-and-nail against other tropers, and your YKTTW still goes un-launched, and your trope gets cut, because it might be too similar to other tropes or because other tropers don't think it is tropeable and fight just as hard to make sure it gets discarded. While other times a trope should clearly be cut/discarded, but the original author/sponsor is stubborn and says whatever they can to keep it alive. I also think emphasizing that some tropes/YKTTW's go down easy (occasionally too easily) would also make your description more clear.
