The game show genre isn't immune to Sturgeon's Law. Some real stinkers have made it on the air. That is where Game Show Garbage comes in: they shine a light on the worst in game shows. This site is modeled after Wrestlecrap, which highlights the worst wrestling moments. (I don't watch wrestling and I've never read Wrestlecrap, so a lot of wrestling references in GSG fly over my head.)
The inductions are, for the most part, pretty funny. The early inductions had an annoying Running Gag with a face palming monkey, but this gag quickly disappears. Seidelman made the questionable choice of center justifying the text, which makes it a little hard to read. While I agree with most of the inductions, some of the shows were just boring instead of offensively bad, but Seidelman has to Accentuate the Negative somehow. Seidelman also has a habit of taking some things personally. In the induction for the Mackenzie Phillips Family Feud sketch on SNL, Cyndi gets unreasonably offended over a simple spelling error. Then there's the Big Saturday Night induction, which ends with a screed against one of the co-hosts in which Seidelman wishes for him to be homeless. Damn!
The video inductions are alright. Compared to other Youtubers, the editing and audio quality are just passable. The video inductions' biggest weakness is when Cyndi indulges in dated Channel Awesome-era tropes (like being "forced" to review something) and/or pointless skits. The Jeopardy '78 induction was the worst offender, with some dude who claims to "take over" Cyndi's channel. The actual induction begins seven minutes into the video. Still, it isn't as cheesy as The Game Show Reviewer.
The Dumb Answer of the Week section is also hilarious. I never bothered with Tooncrap because they beat dead horses (such as Allen Gregory and "The Splinter"), and because they're one of those annoying adult Teen Titans fans who whine about Teen Titans Go! (and I don't even like Teen Titans Go). Games O'Canada is very informative, though Marc Power's editing skills are abysmal; he doesn't edit out long pauses or mouth noises. Watch it at 2x speed.
In short, Game Show Garbage is a website with a great concept, but it began to shine after the first few inductions. Just be prepared for some bad grammar, and if you use Firefox, make sure you toggle Reader View.
