The series really finds its footing after the fourth episode or so. Keep watching.

The first two episodes are TERRIBLE. Then they toss out MOST of the OVERLY absurd blood (though it is still RATHER absurd) and the slow motion attack the air montages afterward

Eh...
Watched the first two episodes last night. It wasn't horrible, although the High Pressure Blood got really crazy in a couple of spots. All in all, the story was decent, the costuming/sets were okay and the acting didn't distract too much from everything else.
