Comments: While most fics where Naruto is adopted by Akatsuki are contrived for rather obvious reasons, this one mangages to not only make it work, but is engaging enough to keep your attention, whether through Naruto's interactions with others, or during battle scenes, with the battle of Amegakure between Pain and Hanzo getting a whole chapter to itself. In addition to that, it offers a possible explanation for the nail polish worn by the Akatsuki, and manages to flesh out Pain and to a lesser extent, Konan, in a manner that would have been more befitting of the characters than the Wangst found in the manga. Later chapters show how his different upbringing affects Naruto's view of the world, and his deconstruction of Neiji's character stands out in particular.
