I'm no fan of SMFA, but you've made a fair review. I think the primary reason it bombed was that Grossout Shows just aren't trendy anymore.

Secret Mountain Fort Awsome is a nice show, but not great.
While SMFA is grotesque, it is a nice blend of Chowder and Freakazoid. While I agree that the toliet humor is overplayed, its been getting better every snce Season 2 started. Festro is a perfect example of an anti-hero done right. Dingle is cute for a starving dog booger thing. The Fart is more then meets the eye. Gweelok is a perfect geek. The best part of the show, however, is the voice acting. The voiceacting is narmy and is hilarious. However, this show does have it bad side. For one, the animation is kinda choppy. It looks like its still using ink shading. It also has ridiculous story lines. Overrall, the show is god, but not great. They could fix up the animation. However, its good enough to not be shot down by the big man.
I'll give this a 8.5 out of 10.
