This is a great adaptation; it follows the canon story very closely yet twists the events in believable ways to fit the fic's relationship angles. Said angles are handled gracefully; the OOC turns make sense and the flow of the relationships is a treat. I found myself thinking that in many ways this carries more raw emotional impact than the canon story, especially in its darker moments, of which there are quite a few.
