Not nearly worth the hate.

Honestly, I love this game to death. It's my favorite one in the series. But is it perfect? Hell no, there are a lot of flaws. Let me get those out of the way. The sky is barren with little to no reason to explore. What is there is barely worth visiting aside from a few mini games and Skyloft to restock. The ground is really linear. Best example is Eldin Volcano. One way up, one way down. Motion controls aren't perfect. Flying and swimming particularly can be difficult. And of course, everyone and their mother has complained about Fi. I didn't find her nearly as annoying (the battery reminders were actually fairly helpful, though the heart reminders were repetitive), but then again I'm not bothered so much by that stuff as others.

But what's good? Well, for one, the rest of the controls are really solid, there's a lot of verity of how you use the remote. Most of the bosses are fun (Imprisoned... not as bad as it gets hate for, but still annoying) and the dungeons, even if rather straight forward, are really entertaining and many are beautiful with really interesting mechanics to explore. And of coarse the story. I fell in love with the story. Zelda is so damn cute and made the mundane rescue the princess feel so much more personal as the connection between her and Link was much stronger than previous games. And as a HUGE Zelink fan, seeing the developers put so much thought into their relationship was really heartwarming.

So when I see all this hate for the game, I get confused. Part of it is probably people who are adamantly opposed to the Wii remote, but still, it's not worth even half the hate. Is it flawless? No, but no game is. It's probably not the perfect Zelda game by definition, but when the game has a story so compelling (at least for me), it's hard not to give it so much credit. Even coming back to it after a long time, I had a lot of fun.

If you don't like it, fine, but don't give the people who do a hard time. A) It just makes you look like an angry yelly person that does nothing but complain and B) Everyone has different opinions on everything so its really not worth getting into a fuss over anyway.
