I required two attempts to really get into this manga, likely because the beginning chapters do seem a bit boring, though it does help in making the reader think of the confusion that the characters must be feeling.
The story of teenagers being cryogenically frozen to survive a catastrophy and rebuild civilization isn't new, but it is done in a way that it doesn't come off as preachy or too contrived, since the catastrophy striking earth was not the fault of humanity.
The cast of the story is pretty big, not just with the Teams that they are separated in, but also the background characters or short cameos. And most of them are a mixture of realistic, entertaining and pretty memorable. None of them come off as nothing but a stereotype and it is nice to see how they all develop, find some Hidden Depths to them and become more mature or extroverted as the story goes on.
I will say, though, what does bother me is the concept of using teenagers. Of course Recruit Teenagers with Attitude is one thing and they did want healthy people who could produce lots of offspring, but it seems like they are just asking for trouble. And the whole big deal of Hana and Arashi being portrayed as Star-Crossed Lovers gets old really fast. Unfortunately, it seems to take a very, very long time for teams to meet up and before they all get together, it will likely take even longer.
