I don't completely understand the wording of Writer Cop Out. The child timeline is in essence the "changed" timeline of Ocarina of Time where Ganon never took over Hyrule during that game, so where does What If? come into play?

That part of the entry isn't talking about the child timeline, but the downfall timeline ("What if Link was defeated by Ganon, rather than winning as the game presumes happened?"). The child/adult timeline split was caused by time travel creating an alternate timeline, but the split between the downfall timeline and the others is the result of different possible outcomes.

Is the Contested Sequel entry even valid? Most of the games described in the entry were commercial and critical successes back when they were first released and even when people find flaws in those games in hindsight, they otherwise have positive opinions about this game.
So, what do you say?
