"God Mode Sue: Celestia has some traits of this in nearly all the stories but she goes into full God Mode Sue territory in Ten Minutes: Aftermath. The entire plot of the original is derailed due to a literal Deus ex Machina. Not to mention, she was able to freeze a nuclear bomb capable of #glassing the entire northern hemisphere# at the moment of detonation."

...Is the part I marked literal? Because if it is, I think it might be useful to give people an idea of #just how ridiculous# this is, since most people don't really comprehend the scale of things like nuclear explosions. To be specific, I did a quick calculation on what it would take to raze the surface of half of the world, and it came out to be #~29.5 petatons#, which to put in relative terms is #~5.9 million times greater than# the total global nuclear stockpile (~5 gigatons). This is enough to destroy the surface of most of the continents and crater out the body of something the size of North America, cause a firestorm with a worldwide overpressure of ~137.9 kilopascals (that's #over 12 tonnes# of directional force hitting every person in the world, and that's only counting the force exerted on human-sized bodies) that would rip up and liquify/vaporize much of the Earth's crust of at least over a hundred million square kilometers and last more than 64 hours, generate lethal levels of thermal radiation widespread enough to cover the surface of the entire planet more than 320 times over, semi-permanently disrupt the entire planetary structure of Earth, and completely wipe all life off the planet with a 360 degree kilometers-high wave of insanely hot Mach 10+ micro-debris, leaving the planet looking like a giant version of Mars. People, this would have been a mass extinction event that would have made the global Cretaceous–Tertiary "dinosaur killer", or even the Permian–Triassic—the largest mass death in all of Earth's history (57% of all families and 83% of all genera lost forever)—extinction events look like firecrackers.

...Is it just me, or does anyone else feel that it might be worth mentioning, in this article (the YMMV portion)—even in a little bit of detail—just how #DAMN ABSURD# it was to have the character Celestia be able to stop something like that, especially without any canonical indications of having such capability. In fact, if I'm to understand, the more recent canon material indicates almost the complete opposite of this. To me, this is a very notable event that should be labeled under multiple tropes. Not to mention that it's an absolutely batshit crazy outlier, if you haven't picked up on that yet.

Any thoughts?

Oh, for God's sake guys. I don't like Chatoyance's writing that much either, but the sheer vehemence with which you attack it and the volume of personal commentary that have nothing to do with the stories themselves is disgraceful. "It's just that bad" or "Everybody else is doing it too" is no license to be vindictive. If you've got a legitimate trope to add, do so, but leave the attitude at the door.

Now I'm not one to defend TCB shinagins, but I read an Azure Future, and the main character had to go along with the PER since they'd only covert him if he went along with them, and why did he not go into a Conversion Bureau to get the process done? Cause they were all shut down.

Still jitters my critters that he went along with the PER, but he unfortunately had his reasons.
