Absolute Sword's edit honestly looks fine to me. It's YMMV, not everyone is going to agree with it. I say it should be restored.

Master Hero, you might wanna take some time off and consider why exactly this seems so important to you. And complaining about other people's attitude isn't helpful, especially when you're the one that came in with an attitude in the first place.

The problems with Absolute Sword's edit are:

1. He uses the narm entry to complain about the movie. Narm is about things that are unintentionally hilarious, not things that either fall flat or just don't have the intended effect. I've seen the narm entry get abused like this before.

2. The movie makes it clear that if there were casualties in the battle, they were done either by Zod's machine or even the human military through indiscriminate fire. If Superman failed to prevent any fatalities, it's because he didn't act fast enough, not for a lack of trying.

If you can correct these flaws, then I'm all up for restoring the edit; otherwise it has no business being there. If my attitude offended anyone, I'm sorry. I'm just tired of people using the YMMV page to post their personal grievances with the movie instead of any opinion shared by a large majority.

Now, I agree a Narm entry for the Jesus-undertones can and should be included. But Master Hero's right, these aren't Narm entries, they're blatant bashing (all the while misusing Narm, which given how broad it is, is sort of impressive) and poorly written to boot.

Just going to do a quick rewrite because the base idea is there, but the edit is poor.

Just a heads-up, but the line from that scene was "He saved us...", not "He saved us all".

This stuff about Affleck is not about MoS and belongs to the sequel, pasted here in the meantime

  • What The Hell Casting Agency:
    • Saying that there was an uproar of angry fans the second Ben Affleck was announced to play Batman in the sequel would be an understatement.

Pulled this from the page:

  • Faura Fails Evolution Forever: Faura's comment about a conscience being an evolutionary disadvantage are remarkably ignorant for someone who seems to be a huge fan of evolution. Namely, a conscience is a product of evolution which, while occasionally detrimental to the individual, benefits the group by enabling cooperation. That's the sort of mistake you would expect from someone who thought evolution was evil.

Now, ignoring the fact that the trope title is potholed as something unrelated (which we're not supposed to do), I'm not sure this is the correct trope. Also, it's not a YMMV trope, but still, this is the place to figure out where it goes.

I'd keep that one cut; Faura is not literally talking about biology, a conscience is not biological in nature, and it sounds like a soapbox to criticise whilst not even getting the right box for the job.
