Way back in 2011, I sent Edward Kay an email with four questions. Three of them were about Heloise.

"1. Is Heloise human? 2. If Heloise is human, how come she can shapeshift? 3. Is there a limit to Heloise’s shapeshifting (eg. what’s stopping her from turning into an older version of herself)?"

And here's what he told me.

"To answer your question about Heloise, she is one of the characters I created, so I can tell you with authority that she started out life as a human, then found her way into the alternate reality that is Miseryville (Think of it as a parallel universe that you can fall into, like Alice In Wonderland), where she took on shapeshifting powers. Her powers are somewhat analgous to Native American ideas of shapeshifters. She has shapeshifting power, but not unlimited power. Mostly because that would be too convenient for the writers. They could turn her into anything to provide a "deus ex machina" solution to ending any story."

I'm not sure how I can prove these are his words, but I thought I would clear things up about Heloise.

* WeCouldHaveAvoidedAllThis: The Dance Contest.

Trope was renamed to "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot due to misuse, but not enough context to know if it actually applies here.

If it does apply, please expand on the entry when putting it back under "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot, for those who haven't seen the show.
