Uh...fievel goes west? That seems to be a topic. I've seen arguments over whether the first or second film is better. They are obviously very different in tone and atmosphere.
I prefer the first one. The second one's good too, but I don't like that it's Lighter and Softer, and that it seems to take jabs at the first movie from time to time. The first movie had a lot more heart to it I think, while the second one is mostly a comedy.

I agree. It is definitely intended to be more appealing for kids. Which makes it strange that it did worse at the box office than the first, no?
Although to be fair Fievel Goes West had the misfortune of going up against Beauty And The Beast, while the first movie was kind of a surprise hit with no direct competition from Disney aside from the rerelease of Song Of The South (last time it saw the light of day I think) and Lady And The Tramp. I think it was probably the lack of Don Bluth that led to Fievel Goes West being Lighter and Softer. And then the lack of Spielberg and a huge budget that led to the other sequels being mediocre.

Aw, shit. I go to wikipedia to see if Fievel's voice actor has done anything else, and find out the second voice actor for him was molested as a child. By a marine. Fucking hell.
Really? I didn't know that. x.o Thomas Dekker right? He actually went on to star in a few things, like the Terminator tv series. Phillip Glasser did a few more voice-overs and some cameos on sitcoms but not much else.

Yeah. And, as if to make matters worse, he was molested by a MARINE. You know, one o' the good guys. Jesus Christ. I'd like to think he's making it up for attention, but...
