Can this be made into the page for the first game instead of just a redirect?

Hi folks I need a bit of help with an example(s) from a Special Efforts thread. See InstantDeathBullet Sandbox for more details Links to threads are in the description.

Any help, suggestions, or other info can be posted to The Special Efforts thread

The examples shown here could perhaps be salvaged with more context or used in other tropes.

What game mechanics, if any, make instant death possible with these games? Please be specific. For example weapons, hit locations, critical damage, direct one shot one kill weapons (like the Golden Gun in GoldenEye)

Does an Instant Death Bullet Occur in cut scenes, gameplay, or anywhere else in the game?

  • In Infamous, if a civilian is shot by a criminal they drop instantly. Cole takes a while to die, though since he's the only case of this it might just be a result of his powers. Averted when Cole shoots civilians: unless it's a head or chest (read: heart) shot, they'll fall instantly, but writhe on the ground. Cole can then heal them, or, if he's a villain, absorb their energy to replenish his battery cores. Which kills them.

I think this article should be sorted in separate parts for each game.

UNMARKED inFAMOUS 2 SPOILERS IN THIS POST

What's with all these "or did Cole sacrifice himself/die/Get Better?" talk? You see the sacrifice. You see the body. You see the body some time later in a casket. I admit I'm not aware of any post-game media, so this could be somewhere In The Manual, but where is the implication that Cole survived???

In the very, very final shot, as Zeke's boat drifts over the horizon, one of the lightning bolts looks like a question mark, implying that there's more story left to tell.

I'll add my skepticism, though. Cole is definitely dead, insofar as it's possible to be sure in a genre like this (and Infamous thus far seems to have avoided that trope, at least, barring massive game breaking power). I've seen no confirmation from the devs or anyone else that he will or could return from the grave.

You know, if I could click you, you wouldn't know a moment's peace.

Honestly, this has been blown way, way out of proportion by wishful thinking. The question mark could very well be some lighthearted trolling on the devs' parts or, as NanoMoose says, it could be that the series isn't over regardless of Cole being dead. It's certainly possible that Cole will come back to life, but given the style of writing through the series and the finality implied by the ending, it's the least likely explanation for the question mark, by a wide margin.

I don't see any reason to exclude the possibility but all the little Or Is It uses in various places is a cluttered way of doing it that puts much more emphasis on it than the game does.
