Er...what? Not my kind of Jewish weddings. They're set for 6:00, the reception will start at maybe 6:30 if you're lucky, the chupah will take place at 7:30, and by the time you're finished with all the pictures, meals, speeches, and dancing, it's well past 11:00.
It's true that the actual chupah doesn't take very long unless there are speeches, which most weddings I've been to don't have (they either have no speeches at all in the whole wedding, or have them during the meal).
Mohels: since when are they ever doctors & not rabbis? Doctors are notoriously bad at circumcision, while mohels train to do nothing else.
Hide / Show RepliesDoctors are bad at circumcision? I hope not, it's an actual medical procedure. Certainly there are plenty of mohels who are rabbis, but often even if the mohel himself is not a doctor there is one in the audience hovering nearby.
Wedding Punctuality: I don't know how many Jewish weddings you guys have been to, but even my Gentile friends say that you'd better get there on time, because if you're late, you'll miss the whole thing!! It's not "Catholic High Mass" for length of time!!!
