Removed from main page, as there is a cleanup effort on Jossed underway and I am not sure what to do with this entry:

  • In Deus Ex, it's Jossed that the Greys in-game are actual aliens. Its stated in the sequel that they are genetically engineered humans created to test genetic modifications that would allow humanity to survive a hypothetical nuclear holocaust. They have strange abilities, such as shooting a blast of radiation at people, telepathy, and are extremely resilient to the elements, including immunity to radiation and being able to run around Anartica butt naked. As for the no genital thing, that was done deliberately so they wouldn't reproduce and take over actual humans.
    • They were much more hostile in the first one, where they'd attack with no provocation. In the second they are a bit more friendly, asking for help telepathically, and you can even team up with them later in the game depending on your alignment.
    • In fact, most of the "alien" and Roswell stuff can easily be explained as an attempt to discredit any would-be whistle-blowers. MJ12 higher-ups probably know the truth, but anyone below Seraphic/8X just gets the cover story. After all, some one talking about a secret research facility might convince quite a few people that they're telling the truth, but after those same people start hearing about supposed extraterrestrials...
