Alas, Poor Villain has been / it's being redefined and it's no longer YMMV nor audience reaction so valid examples can be rewritten in a neutral way. General policy for averted is to list only relevant aversions of common tropes or examples that come close and / or play with it intentionally from some angle
- Alas, Poor Villain: Averted so that you won't feel bad for any of the characters when they were killed off.
The villain line is flimsy to begin with so many Villain Protagonist and shades of black, lack of anvils etc, some characters are given Redemption Equals Death and Antagonist in Mourning moments of varying intensity. The trope now covers writer intention, so those would fall under it, no matter what the individual viewer may feel about the characters.
J Sack is a clear candidate, dies in front of his family after suffering a terminal illness.
