Just a note. The use of Alcorn for horned pegasus or winged unicorn far predates the Brownies. It was in use (or, I guess misuse) as far back as the eighties. Personal experience here.

The word "alicorn" itself goes back to medieval alchemical usage, and used to refer to just the horn of a unicorn, usually ground to powder and used as an ingredient in potions and spells. How it came to refer to winged unicorns is another story, but the word itself is certifiably old.
I was wondering if we could perhaps change the page image to a similar one, but with Trixie's eyes open (and perhaps red). Or maybe one with Twilight and Trixie facing each other down in the duel, since that's mainly what the episode is about.
I just think the picture could be better.

I would certainly say so. She did seem quite sorry over what she did while wearing the Alicorn Amulet. BTW: "Alicorn" is now canon!

As can be seen, Twilight is almost certainly the caster—and she's wearing Zecora's amulet. Because of the amulet's presence, we can almost certainly confirm that this scene is from Magic Duel.
So, the trope page is treating the leaked images as confirmed. Are they?

Well, the pics showing Trixie with the amulet is confirmed. The leaked images are pretty much confirmed too.
