I read one scene differently to how this page is presenting it. I'm pretty sure that Katya was only playing the part of a 'scared child wanting to go home' in order to trick people into touching her, presumably this is how she got the first team that went in. I don't think she was briefly coming to her senses at all. Anyone else?

Putting this here to avoid an Edit War, but on the topic of Insane Troll Logic...

"* Insane Troll Logic: Mack just can't comprehend that they went to the Kree City to stop it from falling into HYDRA's clutches. When Simmons points this out, he replies "But why go there at all?", seemingly forgetting that they also had the Diviner in their possession and thus the means to activate it."

I disagree. There are plenty of alternatives to stop HYDRA getting to the city besides finding it themselves, especially since, IIRC, Coulson didn't even know the Deviner/Obilisk was even connected until after the fact. Considering that finding the city caused a lot of avoidable problems (including Trip's death), and given Mack was personally affected by it and was clearly traumatized by the experience, its not 'Insane Troll Logic' for him to question why Coulson needed to find the city so much.

It is, actually. Mack's arguments are ignoring HYDRA entirely, and it was made clear that there was a connection since the Diviner's markings were similar.

You can think up alternatives, but the fact is the situation, as soon as they learned of the city, was that HYDRA and its massive resources would almost surely find it eventually. They had to take it out of play. Mack's ignoring obvious facts, so it isn't sound logic.

There's a big difference between 'ignoring obvious facts' and 'insane troll logic' (especially when, unlike what the entry says, Simmons, nor anyone else, actually brings up HYDRA, just that they were trying to destroy it, so he didn't ignore anything). While I could debate on the need to find the city, something I'll probably post in the Headscratchers page on the main section, but the point isn't whether Coulson's search was valid or not: The point of contention is if its logical for Mack to question that course of action, which is a perfectly valid thing to do when said action lead to avoidable casualties and other complications.

There's probably a better fitting trope for the validity Mack's question/point, but it really doesn't belong in Insane Troll Logic.

Yeah, this isn't Insane Troll Logic at all. ITL is when the character's argument is supposed to be so nonsensical that it's impossible to argue against because it makes no sense. This seems to be more just questioning his argument, which is not the trope.
