Why does this console get its own trope list when no other game consoles on here have one?

Yeah, go ahead and make some if you want.

Shouldn't the primary name of this article be Mega Drive? It was only called Genesis in the United States (and not even in other English-speaking countries), making the article name Americanitis.

Why are you singling this one out?

What do you mean? I just thought Mega Drive would be the more appropriate name since it's the international name and most familiar to the world's readers. The only ones who call it Genesis are Americans.

There are other systems, so you should take it up with all of them.

I'm talking about this article. You see, Super NES had that name internationally, with it being called Super Famicom really only in Japan. Same with NES vs. Famicom. But with Genesis vs. Mega Drive, Mega Drive is the international name, with Genesis limited to the United States (and, if I'm correct, Canada). It would be an improvement on the article (overcoming Creator Provincialism) to rename it to the internationally-used name found in all of Asia, all of Europe, all of Latin America (if I recall correctly), Australia, New Zealand, etc. U.S.-Canada is the sole exception to the common name.

Hey, this is a large site. I don't know if I've seen even 30% of it.

That's okay. :3 And yes, I started a Trope Repair topic. Its link should appear on the top of the article page.
