would watching A Christmas Story for the line "you'll shoot your eye out (kid)" make this an example? I can't be the only one that has watched it for only that reason

Anyone else think we should only list works that the meme completely displaced? I mean, everyone knows "Star Wars", but honestly how many people talk about "Finding Forrester" for anything other than YTMND?

I no longer edit on TV Tropes but will continue as an occasional forum poster.

It's supposed to be "Works that are only watched because of the meme", or at least watched primarily for the meme. I will agree that this does seem to have some misuse going on.

Hm, would reading The Notebook, The Proof, The Third Lie for the Mother 3 count? It's not memetic, but probably the only reason I and plenty of other younger people bought it...
