would watching A Christmas Story for the line "you'll shoot your eye out (kid)" make this an example? I can't be the only one that has watched it for only that reason
Christian, gamer, programmer, brony, and quadriplegic (paralyzed mid-thorax down). I am filled with determination...Anyone else think we should only list works that the meme completely displaced? I mean, everyone knows "Star Wars", but honestly how many people talk about "Finding Forrester" for anything other than YTMND?
I no longer edit on TV Tropes but will continue as an occasional forum poster.So... is this effectively anything more than "a list of memes"?
Hide / Show RepliesIt's supposed to be "Works that are only watched because of the meme", or at least watched primarily for the meme. I will agree that this does seem to have some misuse going on.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanHm, would reading The Notebook, The Proof, The Third Lie for the Mother 3 count? It's not memetic, but probably the only reason I and plenty of other younger people bought it...
