I'd say just remove that definition about it being over lust (although stating that's a common element could work).

Am I the only person who notices that the myth of Eros and Psyche is basically the gender flip of most Mythological versions of this trope?

New troper here, so not how sure to add this, but there's a good example in the Kingkiller Chronicles, specifically, The Wise Man's Fear, when Maer Alveron sends Kvothe off to kill the bandits in the Eld—increasing the Maer's reputation, or killing Kvothe in the process.
