In the introduction, this is described as a trope that mainly applies to males, but it clearly isn't - there are several examples given that feature women. The effect of a woman being involved in this trope is also quite different, due to the old 'men who sleep around are studs, women who sleep around are sluts' prejudice, so it probably should be split off into its own separate female-specific trope.

I removed this section because of banter and because it seems like a rather dickish thing to comment on. Of course he wasn't known as a "Casanova" literally then, but he had a reputation to that effect. Anyone against?

  • Julius Caesar had a reputation as a Casanova? Either someone Fails History Forever, or there was some ancient Time Machinery involved!
  • Wisenheimer. Of course the Romans did not use the term Casanova. Would be more accurate to say that Caesar was a promiscuous and popular lover.

re Joey on Friends:

"A California Supreme Court ruling cited that Joey's character was based on the actions of a closet rapist. You rarely see his lovers because well... yea. Not kidding. "

I know we're not The Other Wiki but I gotta call Citation Needed on that.
