  • The Jedi in general count too. Oh hey look, here's this nice woman who let her son come and join us. If it wasn't for her, we wouldn't have the Chosen One in our order...What's that? She's still a slave? Oh never mind. We'll just let her suffer in slavery and then get tortured to death by savages. This also applies on a broader scale, what with the typical treatment of families who give up their children to the Order.
Cut from Star Wars, I'm assuming this refers to Anakin and his mother. If so then this is gross misinterpretations of the facts. For starters Anakin himself was a Slave and Qui-gon, to put it simply, bough him out. The entry makes it look like they should be thanking her for letting them buy his son out of slavery, something she not only has nothing to do with(the bussiness was between Qui-gon and their owner), but for what she was gratefull to them. As for why they didn't get her out of slavery... well Qui-gon tried to get her out as well, but the pod racer used in the bet wasn't worth enough to buy out them both. Jedi didn't go out of this way to save random woman who just happened to be a mother of one of their students, but that hardly qualifies them for this trope.

The Farmer and the Viper requires that the person repay the person helping them with directly harming or inconveniencing them, I think, while this trope requires only that the person be a Jerkass towards the person helping them. The Farmer and the Viper should probably be considered a Sub-Trope of this one, though.

We should definitely add a photo of Squidward in the episode Good Neighbors.

I disagree, J. Jonah Jamerson should be the picture. He's practically the Ur-Example.

No. No, he is not remotely the Ur-Example. Read that page, please, and you'll immediately see why that is.
