Cut this Family Guy example, since Joe isn't a Love Interest and this seems like a holdover from when this was Disabled Hottie:
- Joe Swanson is a man's man, from the waist up anyway. Greased-up Deaf Guy? Not so much.
The description is such a mess I don't even know how to fix it.
The disclaimer seems awkward.
It sounds like we're saying "The hero is attracted to the disability and that's a good thing".. but isn't that just another type of fetishization? The disability is sexy, not the person?
That's...awkward. unfortunate implications. I don't have the brain power right now to fix that mess of a disclaimer of tropes being tools or why it's even necessary to disclaim it on the page proper but I think we should fix it up.
Maybe disclaiming it is fine, but at least we ought to do something about implying it's good to fetishize disabilities vs seeing people as people XD ...that's uh, pretty bad.
Edited by SteakAddictsAnonymousDoes the character in question necessarily have to be disabled from the start, or could their be Ship Tease between the character in question and their love interest prior to the disability?
This needs a new image. The current one doesn't show any disability, and I can't really see how being able to "end you" relates to the trope. I don't know how to start an image picking discussion, so please someone else do it. Edit: Never mind.

Per TRS, Disabled Love Interest was renamed to Tragically Disabled Love Interest.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.
