I don't think the Irishman qualifies. I have just read the book, and the only organized crime group it focuses on is the Italian-American Mafia. The eponymous "Irishman" is an associate of them, not an Irish-American gangster, and there are little to no other Irishmen in the book.

Took out the Sin City reference. The characters are supposed to be IRA terrorists turned mercenaries. That's not really an Irish gangster.
