Over at Zombie Squad, it was once suggested that powerful magnets would hold a homemade ninja sword on the back of a trench coat. Needless to say, this idea didn't go over very well.

A registration-locked link is worthless, and without it, the example doesn't really work. This thread that links to it is kind of interesting, but not enough.

Lord of the Rings Online: Any character that uses a two-handed weapon (halberd, bow, two-handed sword) will stow the weapon on their back when not in combat. Up until the Isengard expansion, this would also be true of characters on horseback.

How about 'sticky back weapon' as a redirect?

A redirect should be something that's going to actually be used. As far as I know, that's not a common, or even existing, term for this trope.
