I don't know what is meant by "all three GTA games" but the sentence should be edited to be more accurate. I don't know how many GTA games do or don't have bribes.

I deleted this paragraph:

  • "So, rape huh. A fun and...dare I say it, enjoyable experience." A critic named Guerilla Gamer with Australian magazine PC Powerplay begins a rant as thus, saying how violence is okay, language is okay, sex, pornography, horror, drugs, glorifying criminal activity, ect he is perfectly okay with, But a game on rape crosses even his infamously liberal line. He then proceeds to address that he can't discuss it or he'll look like a hypocrite. His response? "Just watch me," and tears apart the idea of this as a game gimmick.

First, I can't actually find the article this is supposedly referencing (searching for the quoted phrase just brings up all kinds of weird and icky Reddit-threads I won't even touch with a ten-foot-pole) so it's already hard enough to even verify if this example is an example.

And also... Gee whizz, thrown into the article without context, this is just asking for a Flame War that I'm pretty sure none of us are in any way capable of controlling.

This is a sensitive subject, and while there might be a valid and illuminating discussion buried somewhere here, I doubt this Wiki is the place to have it.

Especially when we start it with that kind of quote.

Aeris in Final Fantasy VII is another good example. Playing the game involves killing thousands (and probably many Phoenix Downs) but her death is treated as very unusually significant.

An example I'd want to add is videogame/Uncharted 2, however I don't know whether it is conversed, averted, inverted or subverted: "In Uncharted 2, this is <insert relevent verb here> by the villain at the end of the game, where he asks the player "How many people have you already killed today?" in order to tempt him into killing (and thus invoking If You Kill Him, You Will Be Just Like Him! )."

So what is it?

That line of dialogue is a trope being discussed. The difference between a 'discussed' trope and a 'conversed' trope is that conversing breaks the forth wall while discussing doesn't. Confusing, I know. One of the reasons why those tags are somewhat rare.

But it might depend on what Drake does in response and how the story treats it. You said he's goading Drake into killing? In that case, it's a defied trope. He's recognizing that the trope might occur and trying to avoid it.

Does Deus Ex Human Revolution count for this trope? Adam Jensen refused to kill someone, resulting in him being throw out of S.W.A.T but the player can murder many many people over the course of the game.
