"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI think this should be called "Assuming from Refrain". Still the same pun, but more accurate in meaning, and the name itself would hint that it's not just about the usual use of the phrase "refrain from assuming" without a double meaning.
Edited by VVKWould unreleased songs with (semi)confirmed titles go here? For example, Kylie Minogue's "B.P.M." is commonly referred to as "Beats per Minute", similar with "Extraordinary Day / Taprobane" and it's title actually being double. Doesn't stop some from calling it "You Saved Me".
Would "Drunk on You" be an example? It's in the chorus, but the line "High on Summertime" is there too and it sounds like the more dominant of the two.
This page could probably do with the examples being categorised in some manner. Not really knowledgable enough about musical genres or what-have-you to do it myself, though.
Hide / Show RepliesYeah, this trope needs a MAJOR cleanup. I see entries where I wouldn't see anyone mistake the name of a song for something else, I see a few duplicate entries, I see entries for the same artist that are hundreds of lines apart, there's a few entries where different artists are grouped together (first line is for one artist, and the bullet points under it are for different artists)... yeah, this thing needs an extreme makeover. A good place to start would be to alphabetize the entries by artist, though I understand it would take a few days at this point. O_O
Times Like This ... A Comedy of Eras.
Per TRS, this is now YMMV:
