"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanIs there a stereotype that the nerds are brown haired or something? Because you know, the jerk jocks are usually blond.
THIS PROFILE IS GONNA BE BANNED BECAUSE OF "RUDENESS". SEE THE DICTATORSHIP IN THIS CENTURY. 👀Several examples talk about "Type 1" or "Type 2" nerds. What is that about? The main description doesn't mention it.
Actually, some would argue, that nerd definition is "much knowledge, no social skills" and Napoleon Dynamite doesn't qualify because of his lack of knowledge in any area.
Hide / Show Repliesseconded, I've never heard a definition of Nerd where intelligence or interest in general book learning wasn't mentioned (as opposed to the geek's specialized obsessiveness). Self identified nerds would not embrace the stereotype made here.
usually the non-popular folks at school were referred to in three groups. Dorks, the third group, are basically nerds without intelligence. I knew a webpage that went into detail about all three, but i don't know where it is anymore. DBZ Abridged even has Piccolo accuse the sesquipedalian loquatious Gohan as a Nerd.
This all leads me to think the title of this page should be Dork, not Nerd.
I concur, thus page seems to misidentify nerds. Nerds generally have a great deal of skill in "book learning", or at the very least, some specific area; I.E. they might be good at math class, but not, say, literature class. The people the trope page describes are dorks, not nerds.
