Example, sort of? : when people want to mix the scientific and symbolic meanings of things like "stars", "heart", and "gold" and things like that. For example, (not a serious thing, just an annoyance), a commercial that's currently airing in the US during the 2016 Olympics talks about how the element gold is found in the human body, but uses that to mean something like "unleash your inner champion". It's not a bad message to say, "Give it your all, because you can be a champion," but the quantity of the element gold in the body has nothing to do with that...
