For those of you wondering why I removed an assload of examples... well, I guess you'd only know I did that if you checked the edit history, where I explained my reasoning... but I'm explaining again anyway.

This trope is not anything that makes you say "it seemed like a good idea at the time". It is a very specific chain of events that sometimes results in the trope name being said.

Yes, that is completely counter-intuitive.
