It seems like this trope got re-defined. Is getting married straight out of high school actually a requirement for this trope? What about couples that dated all through high school, but go to college or simply don't marry for a while, although they continue to date? They still fit the spirit of "high school romance is one true love".

the page says that this very rarely happens in real life, but about 20% of people are married before about 24, ( http://www.healthymarriageinfo.org/docs/marriedbyrace.pdf ), and with divorce for that group at about 50% wouldn't that make this happen just under 10% of the time?
Has anyone else noticed that every single example in Fan Works except TWO are Evangelion fics? Surely there's much more than that out there, but people seem to put an extreme emphasis on Evangelion above all other fan works.
Always expect the worst and you can only be pleasantly surprised.
