Because I don't want to remove the caption without understanding context first, I gotta ask: what exactly is the point of the image caption, which is clearly from a Japanese manga, saying what is already obvious?

I think it's a joke demonstrating the trope, implying wiki readers are geographically ignorant.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.

What does this pothole mean? That geography is (or should be considered) the most basic form of human knowledge? Did someone not read the second half of the sentence, assume they had the general idea, and mean that the phenomenon itself is truth in television, to which the page later attests? Being contrary on general principle? Or am I just missing something?
