I know we don't need notability, but my own experience with backpacks suggests that the Real Life purse/backpack 10 oz example is not true and I won't believe it without some serious data.
Watch out where you step, or we'll be afoot.

Eric,
Removed the following, since I've never noticed anything altering movement speed in the game:
- In Diablo II, a character's walking and running speeds are affected by the weight of the armor that they're wearing; however, items that the player is carrying, including suits of armor, have no such effect.
Removed the following, since it's basically a different trope. I guess, sort of like a combination of Fight In The Nude and this?
- A Marine player in Alien vs Predator 2 will be unable to run while wielding some of the heavier guns, but if the player puts the big gun away and switches to something lighter, that extra weight disappears.
- Same deal with Killing Floor. Holding a L.A.W. around makes you move incredibly slow, but putting that away and bringing out a melee weapon lets you move much faster.
In D&D 5e, some armour types have strength requirements. If you don't meet them and still wear the armour, you're slowed down (unless you're a dwarf or armourer artificer). Is this an example?
