Should there be a section— even under the Analysis tab— about the deinstitutionalization of the mentally ill, particularly under the Reagan administration, which coupled with cuts to other social services put a lot of genuinely troubled people on the street and doubtlessly contributed to the rise of this trope above and beyond being Acceptable Targets?
Do newly arrived Shadowkinds from Urban Arcana count as a subversion? While their behavior will likely seem odd to modern-day people, it does make sense from their frame of reference (namely coming from a Standard Fantasy Setting where Everything Is Trying to Kill You) and since they end up dimensionally displaced they are technically homeless until they get a normal (or not so normal) job so they're not exactly crazy even if they seem like it to Muggles?
