"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanIn regards to Canada and bacon, the information here is incorrect. Unless I'm living in a weird part of the country, the bacon that Canadians eat is the same exact thing as American bacon (streaky and crispy rashers). What Americans refer to as "Canadian bacon" is NOT a Canadian's typical conception of bacon; those ham slices are referred to as "back bacon" or "peameal bacon" here. As far as I know, the U.S. and Canada are both drooling over the same deliciously addictive cut of meat.
I changed some wording in the "do not confuse with" line, to be more in line with the new trope name.
It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk BirdShouldn't there be a YMMV on this thing, or at least a note that it isn't universal in the summary somewhere? I can't stand the stuff myself, even find the smell distasteful, and as the article is written it makes me sound like a martian or something.
Hide / Show RepliesEvery trope is subjective, really; the YMMV is only for those tropes that are moreso than others. Bacon doesn't have that many detractors. I even know some muslims who actually love bacon - when a friend asked one of them (they're both bus drivers in my hometown) "Aren't you muslims not supposed to eat pork?", he answered: "Bacon doesn't count."
I know this: if life is illusion, then I am no less an illusion, and being thus, the illusion is real to me.
