I'm against generalizing this to "the metaphor of organized lowly creatures at war," even for the sake of an ancient Greek example; obviously it can't really be done under this title. But that would likely take in all sorts of things, from Redwall to The Nutcracker, that have little to do with what I had in mind. It's probably more like a supertrope.
