Eh, I don't think it's really that long.

I feel like the body of this article (the bit before the examples) is in need of a rewrite. What should have been a fairly succinct description of a simple characterization cue quickly turns into a very long rant about the Double Standard present. Obviously, there is a Double Standard, but addressing it should take two or three sentences at most.
