Where are all of these Emily/Dean fans that make them a fan preferred couple? I've talked to a lot of Emily fans (online and in real life) and I've met maybe one Emily/Dean fan. Emily/Teddy is way more popular and even those who don't like them tend to ship Emily/Perry or Emily/nobody over Emily/Dean.

"A good chunk of the fandom" is a Weasel Word that people use when they haven't unanimous support for a given stance.
That said, proving the opposite isn' really possible either and we aren't in the business to decide which entry version is "right". That's why the entry stays.

I see that all mention of the TV series has been removed from the description. While I'm sure it changed a great deal in adaptation, I was rather fond of the TV show. Can someone please put it back, or give it its own page perhaps?
