Removed the Mass Effect example. See the clean up thread for the criteria for valid examples.

There are seven characters in the band.

3 or 4 of the characters are female (Commander Shepard, The Leader, is the player character and his/her gender is chosen by the player)

Two examples of The Smart Guy. One of them, Garrus Vakarian, is shoehorned in. His marksmanship gets far more attention than his brains.

Two examples of The Lancer. The trope entry attempts to justify this with a pothole to Mutually Exclusive Party Members, but this is not true. While you are eventually forced to choose between those two characters, that decision occurs late in the game. For most of the game, the team consists of 7 people.

A few observations regarding the Neverwinter Nights Modules - Sanctum of the Archmage entry. (1) Tomboyish and prone to a confrontational lack of tact, Diana does not only not fit the trope of "The Chick," but in many ways she's the opposite of it. Her appearance late in Chapter 2 and the way in which it begins to reshape the team's companion dynamic makes her more appropriate for the "Sixth Ranger" trope. Orion would be a more appropriate choice for "The Chick," to the extent that he's explicitly the most philosophic, thoughtful, and nurturing member of the group. (2) Queen Talina never adopts the role of "mentor." After Lenard's death, that trope is assumed by Robin (as "Big Brother Mentor"), briefly taken on by Simon, and then settled into by Prince Nimrod when the party reaches Mount Cassandra. (3) "The Smart Guy" is actually a trope that's shared by both Orion and the player, the latter especially through his talent. Note that the README explicitly recommends that the player role-play with a character that's "a bit of a thinker," and "thinker-oriented" RP options abound in the game. (4) Orion is a healer, and a cross between the smart guy and chick tropes (thus a "Medic"). But he's a tough one, so the trope that fits him best is probably the "Combat Medic." (5) Robin pretty well fits the Lancer, in either incarnation (male or female), to the player's Hero. However, Robin and the player are really partners, and can easily swap these roles at times (especially early on in the story).

Regarding the Mass Effect 2 entry:

Only five members of the squad of eight-twelve are represented Which character acts as The Lancer depends on the player (since The Lancer is the character who disagrees with The Hero) The Chick is supposed to be a support character who cares for the other team-mates. Yeoman Kelly Chambers is a perfect example, now that I think about it, but Miranda is a Square Peg

So I'm deleting the entry
