I was wondering if I could add an image for the Funny and Tear Jerker sub-pages.
Edited by Louey Hide / Show RepliesYou may, since they are un-illustrated. You can also go through the image suggestion thread to first get consensus on the pictures. Although for work subpages, it's not as important as with trope pages.
The following note was removed:
Please move any character tropes to the proper character page.
In all of the other film articles for the Star Wars series, we usually move the character tropes to the character pages and the franchise tropes to the franchise page and add the aforementioned note in. Rather than get involved in an Edit War, I am going to open a discussion about it here.
Since all of the other films have the note regarding the character pages, I think it should be restored. Thoughts or objections?
He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself. Hide / Show RepliesIf all other pages follow the same standard, then Captain Crawdad has no argument backing them up.
"They played us like a DAMN FIDDLE!" — Kazuhira Miller, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom PainAccording to What Goes Where on the Wiki, tropes are listed either on the work's main page or the character sheets.
Generally speaking, if there is a character page for a work, character tropes should be listed there. If there is no character page, then they should be listed on the main page, and moved over if a character page is created.
However, this is complicated by the fact that there is no clear consensus for determining what is a "character trope" and what isn't. Sometimes it's fairly obvious, sometimes less so. Attempts to draw a bright-line distinction have failed, as in this thread: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=15439086890A88611800
If there is disagreement on whether a particular example belongs on the main page or a character page, I'd suggest asking for help in this thread: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=15654830560A87455000
"11th hour superpower"? Matter transference across the Force Bond was first demonstrated in *The Last Jedi*, at first when Kylo Ren was left with water droplets on his hand after meeting Rey in a rainstorm, and then when their hands actually touched and they exchanged false visions sent to them across the bond.
Hide / Show RepliesIf you look at the 11th-Hour Superpower page, it still counts. They didn't control the Force Bond prior to this, and here it becomes crucial.
I think people oughta add in the information confirmed by this article, such as the one-year timeskip and the names of the new characters: [1]
Edited by SirIjona Hide / Show RepliesPer mod post on this cleanup thread, Word of God from interviews and articles is not tropable material and thus unacceptable as the only source of context on example pages.
I know the page is locked, but someone really ought to fix that red link.
Hide / Show RepliesIs it actually confirmed that Palpatine is back?
Hide / Show RepliesApparently not.
But anyway, I expect this page to be locked very soon. So it might be moot anyway.
Here's the link to confirm it: https://comicbook.com/starwars/2019/04/12/jj-abrams-confirms-emperor-palpatine-return-star-wars-the-rise-of-skywalker-episode-9/
He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself. That link didn't work, but yes, apparently Abrams has confirmed it.
When I was watching The Rise of Skywalker again, I noticed when Rey was searching through the fallen Death Star, I saw these Stormtrooper helmets on the ground, if I remember, above the door to the room of the Sith wayfinder.
