Admittedly I haven't read all the material about the Mutons, but something about classifying Axiom's comments on how Mutons' brains were "mostly muscle" at one point as Bizarre Alien Biology strikes me as odd... Especially considering it came from Axiom... Is there any material that suggests he was being literal instead of just saying Mutons used to be Dumb Muscle, calling the mutons of the past what amounts to "meatheads" in Expospeak Gag speech?
Hide / Show RepliesI seem to remember it being in a talk between Godmother and him, talking about the first war. It's been a while since I added the entry.
That said, I can say with certainty that I don't add entries baselessly - it's something I do when I hear a voice line and go "ohey, let's add that."
Edited by TheharboI don't think it's mean to be a literal line, so Bizarre Alien Biology is probably Square Peg Round Trope, but it is made clear that the muton soldiers in the first game weren't terribly bright and most of their tactics were programmed in rather than the result of their own smarts or imaginations.
Then again, Grey Phoenix suggests that mutons do have some kind of culture of their own, and they were, like all the alien war slaves, modded to hell and back before humanity met them, so who knows?
Edited by SpectralTimeNotably, it's Axiom himself who describes their unaltered brains as "Mostly muscle".
Axiom himself indeed, who is well spoken with an extensive vocabulary and is quite intelligent. Which is why I do believe that comment to be a more complicated way of calling unaltered mutons "meatheads".
Removed from Whisper:
- Shipper on Deck: He seems to ship Torque with Claymore, calling their argument as "young love".
I don't think he's literally shipping them, he's being snarky. The way people will tell other people who are bickering if they are going to kiss or "mom dad stop fighting".
Hide / Show RepliesI agree. I interpreted it as sarcasm. The context is important too. Torque is being a Mouthy Kid as usual, and Claymore is deliberately antagonizing her.
Sometimes that leads to a Slap-Slap-Kiss. Sometimes it's just two people who have a mutual grudge.
Are we going get images for the enemies?
