Casey Crafford has released some officials promotion stills that they took for Netflix for the show, and they're very consistent in their look (including for some characters that currently do not have images on the page). Thoughts on including them/swapping out for them?
I believe this to be false on Monkey D. Garp character tropes: "Composite Character: Garp replaces Captain Smoker as the Marine who chases the Straw Hats across East Blue although by the end of Season One, as the Straw Hats cross over to the Grand Line, Smoker begins his own chase.
Smoker didn't chase them in East Blue (really no Marine did) and he became a character in the manga after that/this arc in the show in Loguetown.Garp isn't a composite character more just a transplant from his own story later in the series.
Hide / Show RepliesYeah, that one was causing me to scratch my head too. Garp certainly does take some cues from Smoker's character, but that's because Smoker is supposed to be a Generation Xerox of him. If anyone borrows traits from Smoker, it's Koby — as I noted in Composite Character, Manga!Koby's opinion of the Seven Warlords is largely ambivalent, while here Koby clearly does not like them once he learns about them.

Why the split for the other sections? None seem big enough to justify it.
